This satellite image covers the most disputed area between the Northern
Pakistan and India near Siachen. A point located on a secondary top
wedged between Karakoram range and Kailas (named NJ 9842) was selected
in 1947 to trace the disputed border line to the Karakoram pass, thus
crossing the Siachen glacier (upstream in Pakistan, downstream in
India), border disputed so much since by India. On this image, one
sees K12 there (7469m) and some other formidable mountains forsaken
well by the mountaineers bus in full heart of No Man' S Land. One
can regard this image as rare by its quality and the space which is
represented there. Kalash range is also called "Little Karakoram
", it contains many "6000" peaks and some "7000",
an absolutely desolated area.
